On the verge of competing in the Iditarod, Maren Patterson loses her championship team and takes on a cast-off string of dogs. Broke and homeless, she has fourteen huskies to feed and no place to keep them.

 

After his friend’s tragic death, Seth Nelson retires from the Coast Guard special forces and returns to take ownership of his late grandfather’s land. His childhood sweetheart and her pack of dogs put a cramp in his plans to restore the house on Lake Superior’s North Shore.
